Everybody knows just how frustrating it can be to lose your password – especially for an important account like your email account. You are sure you know what your password is but it won’t accept it or any variation of what you thought it could be – so you are forced to reset it. Fortunately Google make it extremely easy to reset your Gmail password, just follow the simple steps below.
How To Rest Your Gmail Password
Step 1 -From the Gmail login screen, press the ‘Need Help’ button – located underneath the password box.
Step 2 -Select ‘I don’t know my password’.
Step 3 -Enter your Gmail address.
Step 4 -Enter the last password you remember (if you can’t remember the password skip to the next section).
Step 5 -It will give you the option of either having a code sent to your mobile phone which you will enter and then it will give you the opportunity to enter a new password – or you can have reset information sent to your alternative email address and then you can enter a new password. Alternatively if you don’t have access to either of these options, because they do not know your phone number or you haven’t entered a backup email then see the third section.
I Can’t Remember Any Passwords
Step 1 -On the page that asks you for your last password, click ‘Don’t Know’ this will take you to the same page above, where you can select to either receive an activation code to your mobile or to an alternative email address. Alternatively if you do not have either of these options, follow the steps below.
I Don’t Have A Phone Number Or Backup Email Address
Step 2 -Click the ‘verify my identity’ button on the page that you are stuck on.
Step 3 -Enter an email address that you do have access to.
Step 4 -Follow the steps provided, answering as much information as you can and you should be able to unlock access to your account.
